Abstract
In the incessant struggle waged by man for supremacy in the world around him, he has succeeded in continuously modifying the earth by modifications often no less relevant than those caused by geographical and physical factors. It is, therefore, in a geographical and anthropological perspective that the great epic of human labor is best seen, an epic which had its beginnings many millennia ago, but undoubtedly is still not completed, if we think in terms of insuring the survival of the species.
