Negative Poisson Ratios in Wood and Particleboard with Ultrasonic Technique

Abstract

The Poisson ratios were determined with ultrasonic through transmission technique for Douglas — fir and particleboard. The hypothesis of the orthotropic anisotropy was accepted. In our experiments negative values were determined. These values have shown the structural anisotropy of wood and particleboard.
