Abstract

The incidence of incisional hernia following abdominal surgery ranges from about 1% to 10% [1-3], depending on the site of the initial laparotomy. The lowest incidence (1%) has been reported after paramedian laparotomy [4], and the highest (15%) after midline incision [5,6].
