PEARL 90 in der Lehre — Erfahrungsbericht

Abstract

Like Pascal PEARL 90 is well suited for teaching the systematical development of Software. Furthermore it comprises a clear I/O concept and an unpretentious and efficient realtime part. Although PEARL 90 isn’t an object oriented language, its concepts of modules and pointers facilitate an introduction to object oriented programming. Since 1989 more than 3000 each of tested realtime programs and of first versions of modules have been controlled at FH Bielefeld. Based on this experience I am making some proposals for programming guidelines.
