Kongenitale Erkrankungen ergeben zusammen mit posttraumatischen und postinfektiösen Zuständen, bei denen es durch Schädigung der Epiphysenfuge zu erheblichen Wachstumsstörungen der betroffenen Seite kommen kann, den häufigsten Anlaß für Verlängerungseingriffe am Oberschenkel.
