Changes in Cytoplasmic Poly(A)-Rich RNA in WI-38 Cells Stimulated to Proliferate

  • Chapter
Fundamental Aspects of Neoplasia

Abstract

Several lines of evidence indicate that activization of the genome is one of the early events in the pre-replicative phase of WI-38 human diploid fibroblasts stimulated to proliferate by a change of medium (5,11,30,31). An increase in chromatin template activity occurs within 1 hr after stimulation and is paralleled by an increase in incorporation of [3H] uridine into nuclear RNA (ID.
