Abstract

There is now ample evidence that photosynthetic electron transport from water to NADP+ is driven by two light reactions operating in series. The light reactions are catalyzed by two different pigment assemblies, termed photosystem I and photosystem II, each containing a photochemical reaction center and light-harvesting pigment molecules.
