Abstract
Skin, fascia, and tendon are this tissues most commonly used as free autologous grafts for replacing the ligaments of the knee. We have little experience in the use of fascial and tendon grafts for this purpose, but for 20 years we have regularly employed autologous skin for the replacement or reinforcement of ligaments. We can therefore speak with some competence on the use of autologous skin as a material for grafts. In this contribution we shall, therefore, confine our remarks to the replacement of knee ligaments with autologous skin.
