Myelographic Signs of Narrow Lumbar Canal

  • Chapter
The Narrow Lumbar Canal

Abstract

Because of the fluidity of the hydrosoluble contrast medium and of its miscibility with the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF), lumbar myelography (LM) is the method of choice for the investigastion of the narrow lumbar canal. The homogenous opacification of the totality of the dural sacpermits global visualization of its roentgenologic silhouette and disclosure of contrast distribution anomalies within the opaque area.
