Abstract
Between June 1978 and December 1980 percutaneous transluminal angioplasty was performed for iliac artery stenosis in 145 (90.5% men, 9.5% women) patients. The treatment was successful in 133 cases. The mean age was 56 ± 10 years range (21–81). Sixty-four percent had a bad runoff with additional occlusions in the thigh and in the calf; 31.7% suffered from rest pain and necrosis.
