Zusammenfassung

Bei der Gestaltung eines Kapitels über Krankheiten der Faszien bleibt bewußt, daß diese Gewebe keine Organeinheit darstellen, sondern als Hilfsstrukturen für Muskulatur und Subkutis zu betrachten sind. Krankheiten entstehen in diesen Geweben, abgesehen von ihrer Mitbeteiligung bei Traumen und den ihnen traditionell zugeordneten Tumoren („noduläre Fasziitis“, „Fasziendesmoid“) wohl nur selten — häufiger dürften sie bei Krankheiten der Muskulatur und der Haut bzw. der Subkutis in das Krankheitsgeschehen mit einbezogen werden. Eine krankheitsbestimmende Rolle kommt ihnen durch ihre mangelnde Elastizität bei Drucksteigerungen in der Faszienloge zu („Kompartment-Syndrom“: Mubarak et al. 1978) — Muskelnekrosen stellen sich ein.
