Zusammenfassung
Im ESPRIT-Projekt DAMS (Dynamically Adaptable Multi-Service System) wird ein Prototyp eines zukünftigen Kommunikationssystems für den privaten Netzbereich realisiert. Die Hauptziele des Projektes bestehen in der Integration von Audio-, Video- und Datendiensten sowie einer flexiblen, dynamischen Ausnutzung der zur Verfügung stehenden Übertragungsbandbreite. Weitere Anforderungen stellen eine erhöhte Zuverlässigkeit als die heutigen Systeme und die Anpaßbarkeit an veränderte Benutzerprofile und sich neu entwickelnde Standards dar. Die bereits existierenden Planungen für Breitbandkommunikationsdienste in Öffentlichen Netzen erfordern eine Migrationsstrategie zum ATM-Netz. Dieser Aufsatz gibt einen Überblick über die im DAMS-Projekt entwickelten Konzepte.
