Part of the book series: Informatik-Fachberichte ((INFORMATIK,volume 296))

Abstract

The major goal of our approach is to develop new concepts and a testbed environment for a software system that simulates the pollution distribution behavior in the atmosphere with adequate numerical methods and visualizes the results. Efficient and user-friendly tools for data aquisition and processing as well as for visualizing the results should be provided and existing and improved numerical models should be integrated into the system. Furthermore, the ground classification as well as the reconstruction of building configurations for micro-scale regions is very important for the pollution simulations and other common environmental problems. They can be provided using automatic imaging techniques on remote sensed data.
