Abstract

The suture material has an important role in the every day work of the surgeon and has to face a permanent change in demands because of developments in surgery. There is no ideal suture Utting for all surgical purposes, as there is a diversity in the demands concerning the use of surgical materials. In times of extended operative procedures, there are more differentiated requirements concerning suture materials.
