Zusammenfassung

Die Prognose eines Tumorpatienten ist bestimmt durch Faktoren, die sich in 3 Kategorien gruppieren lassen (Abb. 10.1): patientenbezogene, tumorabhängige und therapiebestimmte (Hermanek et al. 1990). Tabelle 10.1 zeigt eine Reihe dieser prognostischen Faktoren, geordnet in eben diese Gruppen. Im Analogieschluß gilt dasselbe für Patienten mit nichttumorösen Erkrankungen. Und die sorgfältige Dokumentation der Patientendaten, der Tumorerkrankungen und Krankheitsverläufe, möglichst bis zu Heilung oder Tod, ist unverzichtbarer Teil jeder modernen Krebsbehandlung und Tumornachsorge. Sie bildet darüber hinaus die Grundlage für jedwelchen wissenschaftlichen Fortschritt.
