Gear Motor Handbook

Abstract

Gears are present in all industrial applications. Whenever a speed of rotation or a mechanical torque has to be transformed, or the operational security and flexibility increased, a gear is needed. They are used in machines of light and heavy industry as well as in the very complex mechanisms of robotics. Several examples can be given as in the maintenance or lifting apparatuses, the multiple instruments of chemical, iron and steel, and paper and cement industries, the mining industry and by the structures such as dams or movable bridges etc.
