Abstract

Prior to placement of implants, a routine oral examination should be carried out. All information needed for the treatment planning should be gathered. Radiographic information should include a complete röntgen-status using the long-cone paralleling technique or — when only few teeth are present — a combination of a panoramic radiograph and a selected number of intra-oral radiographs.
