Zusammenfassung

Die zunehmende Verbreitung der Neuroleptika, die Ausweitung ihres Indika tionsspektrums, neuere Erkenntnisse über Begleitwirkungen und die verstärkte Sensibilität von Patienten und Angehörigen gegenüber medikamentösen Nebenwirkungen machen es notwendig, Nutzen und Risiken der Langzeitbehandlung mit Neuroleptika kritisch gegeneinander abzuwägen (Gardos u. Cole 1976; Helmchen 1978; Davis et al. 1980; Gottfries 1981; Hippius u. Klein 1983; Kane 1984; Johnson 1985; Tegeler 1987).
