Zusammenfassung

Der Einführung und späteren Vervollkommnung der Gewebekulturtechniken zur Züchtung von Polioviren verdanken wir auch indirekt die Entdeckung der Adenoviren. Die ersten Typen wurden 1953 bei Versuchen isoliert, Gewebe von Rachen- und Gaumenmandeln, wie es häufig operativ anfällt, in Kulturen zu züchten. Dabei stellten sich oft: Spontandegenerationen ein, die auf HeLa- und anderen Zellen fortzüchtbar waren. Man hat heute bereits 30 serologisch differente Adenovirustypen vom Menschen isoliert und kennt außerdem 16 Typen von Affen, Hunden, Rindern und Mäusen [24].
