Zusammenfassung

Cervicale Discusprolapse und Protrusionen haben in den letzten Jahrzehnten großes Interesse hervorgerufen, und man hat ihnen ätiologische Bedeutung für die Entstehung einer Reihe verschiedenartiger, im oberen Körperquadranten lokalisierter Krankheitsprozesse zugeschrieben. Es handelt sich dabei unter anderem um Brachialisneuralgie, Occipitalisneuralgie, Schulter-Hand-Syndrom, cervicale Migräne, Morbus Meniere und gewisse Diaphragmaparesen. Außerdem hat sich gezeigt, daß sie die Ursache der häufigsten bei älteren Menschen auftretenden Myelopathien sind.
