Abstract
One of the aims of the COSMOS project is to develop a generic model of clinical practice intended to provide a logical design which will form the basis for the development of a comprehensive computer record of any chosen clinical activity. The model, intended to become the clinical view of the UK NHS’ Common Basic Specification, forms part of a functional specification enabling systems to be developed as integral parts of much larger, complex systems of health care.
