Zusammenfassung
Die Entwicklung von Kindern vollzieht sich im Spannungsfeld von endogenen Bedingungen und psychosozialen Faktoren. Ob und wie psychosoziale Faktoren auf die pränatale Entwicklung des Kindes einwirken, ist bis heute noch nicht eindeutig geklärt. Zahlreiche Publikationen berichten von Einzelfällen oder fußen auf retrospektiven Studien, so daß Spekulationen und Vermutungen ebenso wie plausible Argumente diskutiert werden können. Es gibt wenige wissenschaftlich abgesicherte Studien, wobei es verständlicherweise besonders schwierig ist, zu beweisen, daß psychische Belastungen und die psychosozialen Verhältnisse nur während der Schwangerschaft relevant sind oder waren.
