Zusammenfassung

Bei akuten oder chronischen Lebererkrankungen kann die Leberfunktion bis zum Organversagen eingeschränkt werden. Besonders bei chronischen Lebererkrankungen bleibt die Einschränkung der Leberfunktion lange ohne klinische Symptomatik. Erst im Endstadium der Erkrankung dekompensiert die Leber und führt zu einem metabolischen Syndrom, bei dem neuropsychiatrische Symptome im Vordergrund stehen.
