Setting the stage

  • Chapter
  • First Online:
Organizational Innovation Communities

Abstract

This part tackles the first major gap in scholarly research, i.e. missing understandings of the role of structural and cultural antecedents on innovation activities and outcomes and strategies to create such organizational contexts. In other words, Tom’s major struggle to transfer the fashion of innovation communities to foster innovation development within organizations is addressed.

A previous version of part III is accepted for publication in the International Journal of Knowledge-based Organizations (Bansemir, Neyer, & Möslein, 2012). The article is co-authored by Anne-Katrin Neyer and Kathrin M. Möslein. Additionally, a considerably adapted version of part III is in press in the conference proceedings of the Informatik 2011 – Informatik schafft Communities (Bansemir, Neyer, & Möslein, 2011b).
