Comprehensive Ocean Tide Loading Parameters of Sites in East Asia with Spherical Harmonic Method

Abstract

We apply the spherical harmonic method (SHM) to calculate the comprehensive ocean loading parameters. Our calculation covers 11 VLBI sites in East Asia and four tidal constituents M 2, S 2, K 1, and O 1 of Schwiderski’s ocean tide chart and the Japan Sea. The loading mass convolution with Green’s function is performed by using the load Love numbers of Pagiatakis’s earth model. We demonstrate high performance of the SHM and discuss general requirements for ocean tide model accuracies.
