Abstract

We shall recall very briefly the fundamentals of phenomenological thermodynamics, especially those parts regarding equilibria in heterogeneous systems. Doing this, we shall presume that the reader is already familiar with the basic notions taught in elementary courses. Our aim will be to focus attention on some results that will be useful for the problems treated in the next chapters.
