Zusammenfassung

Eine spontane Nebenschilddrüsenunterfunktion ist sehr selten; Hypoparathyreoidismus hat vorwiegend chirurgischiatrogene Ursachen. Dagegen wird ein Hyperparathyreoidismus zunehmend häufiger diagnostiziert, wenn Serumcalcium-Untersuchungen routinemäßig durchgeführt werden. Hierbei können vielfach uncharakteristische, „nervös-psychische“ Beschwerden — Müdigkeit, Antriebsarmut, Leistungsschwäche u. a. — eine organische Erklärung finden; andererseits werden auch Hypercalciämien ohne ersichtliche Krankheitszeichen aufgedeckt. Der Krankheitswert dieser Störungen kann erst durch Langzeitbeobachtungen beurteilt werden.
