Zusammenfassung
In welchem Maße die Hirnrindenaktivität mit dem EEG dargestellt werden kann, hängt von zahlreichen Faktoren ab, vor allem:
-
von der Struktur der Neurone und deren Anordnung in der Hirnrinde und damit von der Richtung und Ausdehnung der von ihnen ausgehenden elektrischen Dipole,
-
vom Ausmaß der Synchronisierung der neuronalen Aktivität (s. Kap.l),
-
von den unterschiedlichen Leitfähigkeiten der verschiedenen Gewebsstrukturen,
-
vom Abstand der EEG-Elektrode zum Potentialgenerator,
-
von der Art der Elektrodenverschaltung, d. h. von der Wahl des Ableiteprogrammes im EEG-Gerät. Diese Wahl entscheidet darüber, wie die ableitbare kortikale Aktivität in der EEG-Registrierung letztlich „abgebildet“ wird.
