In diesem Kapitel werden die klinisch relevanten Systemmykosen (Aspergillose, Kandidose, Kryptokokkose und Mucormykose) behandelt. Für seltene invasive und disseminierte Pilzinfektionen, die in Mitteleuropa keine Rolle spielen (Kokzidioidomykose, Parakokzidioidomykose, Histoplasmose, Blastomykose u. a.), wird auf die Spezialliteratur verwiesen (American Academy of Pediatrics 2000; Feigin u. Cherry 1998).
