Abstract
With increased usage of multilayered boards, it’s time to look again at what is occuring at the manufacturing and design level. PCBs have become so commonplace since their inception that the main concern of electronic designers and packagers has been the chips affixed to the board, rather than the board design itself. However, there are still certain practices that must be followed and principles understood about board design and production in order to produce cost-effective electronic products. And, although much automation has been developed for producing PCBs, the human element is still critical.
