Abstract
Fact-finding research was undertaken on irrigated rice fields of individual farmers in three sample regions in the northwest of the Nile Delta to determine the magnitudes of and relations between:

Crop production;
-
Amount and salt content of irrigation water;
-
Amount and salt content of surface and subsurface drainage water;
-
Salinity of the topsoil;
-
Depth and salt concentration of the surface-water layer.
