Eyelid Retraction

  • Chapter
Oculoplastic Surgery Atlas

Abstract

Eyelid retraction is a common condition encountered in ophthalmology. Its diagnosis and appropriate management involve a systematic approach beginning with a complete history. It is important for the surgeon to be aware of conditions that could potentially worsen the retraction. A thorough history and physical examination will help the physician avoid misdiagnosis and inappropriate surgical intervention.
