Zusammenfassung

Weichteilsarkome (WTS) und Weichteiltumoren unterschiedlicher Malignität stellen eine heterogene Gruppe von Tumoren dar, die primär in den Weichteilen entstehen und sich wahrscheinlich aus pluripotenten mesenchymalen Zellen entwickeln. Sie bilden die viertgrößte Gruppe solider Tumoren im Kindesalter. Der häufigste bei Kindern auftretende Tumor aus der Gruppe der WTS ist das Rhabdomyosarkom (RMS). Ziel dieses Kapitels ist es, die Prinzipien der Diagnostik und Behandlung der WTS in den Therapieoptimierungsstudien der GPOH und anderer Studiengruppen darzustellen.
