Zusammenfassung
Medikamente zur Behandlung von Schlafstörungen sollten erst dann eingesetzt werden, wenn alle anderen Methoden nicht zum gewünschten Erfolg geführt haben. Allerdings zeigt die Erfahrung im Schlafcoaching, dass genau das Gegenteil der Fall ist. Mehrere Gründe dürften dafür verantwortlich sein, doch der gesundheitliche und volkswirtschaftliche Schaden, der dadurch angerichtet wird, lässt sie alle als nicht gerechtfertigt erscheinen. Bei einer Reihe von Schlafstörungen kommen apparative Therapiemethoden zur Anwendung, und bei einigen sind sie sogar die erste Wahl (z. B. bei der Therapie der Schlafapnoe). Dieser Bereich ist sehr innovativ und expansiv und kann daher im Rahmen dieses Buches nur kursorisch dargestellt werden
