Computerphysik, auch Computational Physics oder Computergestützte Physik, ist ein Teilgebiet der Physik, das sich mit der Computersimulation physikalischer Prozesse befasst. Als Grundlage dienen die Verfahren der Numerischen Mathematik. Die Computerphysik setzt sich mit Methoden auseinander, die die Parameter, die ein physikalisches System beschreiben, numerisch und algebraisch mit dem Computer lösen. Die Disziplin beschäftigt sich auch mit der Simulation von Regelsystemen. Thomas Schrefl interessiert sich für Nischenthemen der Computerphysik — die Simulation mikromagnetischer Prozesse, intelligente Materialien wie Nano-Sensoren, aber auch für magnetische Filterlösungen für medizinische Anwendungen.

Abstract

Computational physics is a sub-discipline of physics studying physical processes with the help of computer simulations using numerical mathematics. Computer physics works with methods which solve the parameters describing a physical system with numerical and algebraic algorithms using computers. It also simulates rule-based systems. Thomas Schrefl is interested in niches within computational physics — the simulation of micromagnetic processes, intelligent materials such as nano-sensors, but also in magnetic filter solutions for medical applications.
