Zusammenfassung

Das Karpaltunnelsyndrom (KTS) ist eine häufig auftretende Mononeuropathie des peripheren Nervensystems, welche durch sensible, motorische, selten autonome Symptome und Befunde gekennzeichnet ist. Lokale und bis in die proximalen oberen Extremitäten ausstrahlende Schmerzsyndrome und Brachialgien gehören oft zum Krankheitsbild. Trotz dieser bekannten Charakteristika sind KTS individuell unterschiedlich ausgeprägt. Die Interpretation dieser Symptome und Befunde erfordert neben einer ausführlichen Anamnese klinische Erfahrung und Kenntnis der Differentialdiagnosen. Diese Zusammenfassung erläutert Symptome und Befunde, Differentialdiagnosen und Störungen, bei denen KTS assoziiert sind.
