Abstract

Our discussion today on the oligodendroglioma is perhaps a little simpler than that on the spongioblastoma. I do not think the classical type of oligodendroglioma requires any discussion. I would like you to discuss with us today the question as to whether there is not a series of polymorphous tumours belonging to the oligodendroglioma group. In this we are following in the footsteps of Bailey who observed groups of polymorphous astrocyte-like cells differing from the usual honeycomb-like architecture. He was inclined to regard these cells as degenerating or transitional.
