Zur Wirksamkeit komplementärer psychiatrischer Versorgung

Zusammenfassung

Komplementäre psychiatrische Einrichtungen sind eine wichtige Ergänzung zum traditionellen stationären und ambulanten psychiatrischen Leistungsspektrum. Sie sollten auf jene Patientengruppen zugeschnitten sein, die unter ausgeprägten, häufig chronisch psychischen Störungen und Behinderungen leiden. Noch immer gibt es kaum empirisch fundierte Belege, die die Effektivität dieser Einrichtungen belegen, da die evaluative Forschung in diesem Bereich mit erheblichen methodischen Problemen vergesellschaftet ist. Bei schizophren erkrankten Patienten, deren Krankheitsverlauf durch eine Verschränkung von krankheits- und umweltbedingten Faktoren bestimmt ist, gibt es Hinweise dafür, daß diese Einrichtungen aus therapeutischer und auch aus volkswirtschaftlicher Sicht von Nutzen sind.

Complementary psychiatric facilities are an important additition to traditional inpatient and outpatient psychiatric care. Complementary psychiatric care should be tailored to those groups of patients who suffer from marked, often chronic mental disorders and deficiencies. There is as yet little empirical evidence to prove the effectiveness of these facilities as evaluative research in this field is subject to considerable methodical problems. In schizophrenic patients, where the course of the disease is determined by closely linked environmental and pathological factors, there is some indication that these facilities are usefull both from a therapeutic and from an economic point of view.
