Zusammenfassung

In den letzten Jahrzehnten ist ein deutlicher Anstieg von Auslandsdirektinvestitionen in Entwicklungsländer, insbesondere China, zu beobachten (OECD 2004, Kinkel/ Maloca 2008). Gleichzeitig treten unerwartete Schwierigkeiten auf, die die Effizienz der ausländischen Unternehmen beeinflussen und möglicherweise beinträchtigen können (Deutsche Bank Research 2004, AHK 2008, AHK/EAC 2008). In diesem Artikel soll der Frage nachgegangen werden, wie diese systematischen Schwierigkeiten zu erklären sind.
