Economic policies have, in most countries, embraced market economy and engendered accelerated growth. Globalisation and new technological developments have been instrumental in the process. The pace of development and change has been and will continue to be fast. With persistent unemployment and skill gaps, labour markets are continually challenged to respond quickly to emerging realities and changing market needs.
