Abstract
This chapter outlines the need to explore a new Integral-developmental perspective in Psychology based on the works of Sri Aurobindo and The Mother that is capable of acknowledging the rich tapestry of the levels of Consciousness that exist within a human being. It examines the need to explore a developmental framework and inner subjective-spiritual methodologies that can create a field of conscious evolution. The chapter explores the nature of the current developmental discourse and how this discourse can be illumined by Aurobindo’s vision of a new psychology as a ‘science of consciousness’.
All life is yoga.
(Sri Aurobindo 1999, p. 8)
Yoga is nothing but practical psychology.
(Sri Aurobindo 1999, p. 44)
Our yoga is not a retreading of old walks, but a spiritual adventure.
