Samenvatting

In dit hoofdstuk worden de belangrijkste functies van de nier beschreven, evenals de anatomie en fysiologie. Daarna worden acute en chronische nierinsufficiëntie, het nefrotisch syndroom en nierstenen behandeld. Hierbij wordt aandacht besteed aan veelvoorkomende oorzaken, de symptomen, het beloop en de behandeling. Tot slot worden enkele aanbevelingen voor de praktijk gegeven.
