Part of the book series: Developments in Nephrology ((DINE,volume 23))

Abstract

For the most part, patients terminate CAPD or CCPD therapy for one of three reasons:

  1. 1

Transfer to another type of dialysis.

  2. 2

    Transplantation.

  3. 3

    Death.

On rare occasions CAPD/CCPD may be terminated because of a return of kidney function or because a patient further therapy for end stage renal disease with no return of kidney function.
