Abstract

Conductivity, Hall effect and Thermopower measurements were performed on vitreous 8OV2O5-20P2O5 in the temperature range 320-500°K. The Hall mobility shows a strong dependence on temperature with an activation energy which is one half of that of conductivity, i.e. 0.2 eV and 0.4 eV respectively. This result is not in agreement with small-polarons theory according to which the activation energy of μH is one third of that of conductivity. The value of μH at room temperature was found approximately 3.10-4cm2V-ls-l.
