Abstract

This second group of risk factors includes:

  1. (1)

Disturbances during a previous pregnancy and labour, of a type which could represent an increased risk for the development of the foetus and could be expected to recur. These are:

    1. a)

certain pathological conditions of pregnancy (latent diabetes, EPH gestosis),

    2. b)

disturbances of the duration of pregnancy, i.e. shortening (artificial or spontaneous abortion, premature labour) or protraction,

    3. c)

a pathological course of labour, with surgical termination.

  2. (2)

Disturbances of development of the foetus in a previous pregnancy:

    1. a)

      nutritional (a small-for-gestational-age or over-weight foetus),

    2. b)

damaged foetus (serious perinatal morbidity and congenital anomalies),

    3. c)

      perinatal death of the foetus.
