Abstract

The present report summarizes the experience with ultrasonicexamination of the eye in 20 cases of ocular metastases from our clinic 1977-91.Ultrasonography appears as the most useful, non-invasive test in earlydiagnosis of disease dissemination and an efficient means of following palliativetreatment, and therefore helpful also for the oncologist in establishingan adequate therapy regimen in treatment of breast carcinoma. In 11 of the 20the uveal metastasis represented the first clinical evidence of hematogeneousgeneralization.
