Individual Applications

Abstract

As at 31st December 1961, ten out of the fourteen States which have ratified the Convention had recognised the competence of the European Commission of Human Rights in respect of individual applications: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, the Federal Republic of Germany, Iceland, Ireland, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway and Sweden. Four of these (Austria, the Federal Republic of Germany, Norway and Sweden) renewed this recognition in 1961. In so doing, the Federal Republic of Germany and Luxembourg extended the period of validity of their recognition from three to five years.

Dix Etats sur les quatorze qui ont ratifié la Convention, ont au 31 décembre 1961, accepté la compétence de la Commission européenne des Droits de l’Homme en matière de requêtes individuelles: Autriche, Belgique, Danemark, République Fédérale d’Allemagne, Islande, Irlande, Luxembourg, Pays-Bas, Norvège et Suède. Quatre d’entre eux (Autriche, République Fédérale d’Allemagne, Norvège et Suède) ont, au cours de l’année 1961, procédé au renouvellement de leur acceptation. La République Fédérale d’Allemagne et le Luxembourg ont à cette occasion porté la durée de leur acceptation de trois à cinq ans.
