The Space Phasor Theory

  • Chapter
Modern Electrical Drives

Part of the book series: NATO ASI Series ((NSSE,volume 369))

Abstract

The present section provides a synthesized overview of the Space Phasor Theory and underlines its advantages for the analysis and phasorial representation of transient process in the classical converter fed electrical machines. The conceptual hardcore of the theory is discussed in detail, its main and more practical questions are given and illustrated by means of different theoretical and experimental examples and the, so-called, correlation theorems are presented. The contribution also includes a direct comparison between the Space Phasor Theory on the one hand and the Space Vector Theory and the Generalized Machine Theory on the other in order to make clear where the essential differences between these theories lie.
