Abstract

In chap.3 it was mentioned that dust- or object-related electric reconnection leads to either dust particle acceleration or EHD shock generation in the form of critical ionization flow, depending on the background environment, whether it is free space or vacuum, a tenuous (collisionless) or collisional neutral (e.g. atmospheric) or partially ionized gas, more specifically whether the local electric fields on the grain surface are below or beyond the breakdown threshold of the background gas, respectively.
