Abstract

Though Lionne had told Pomponne to wait until the king’s arrival at Dunkirk before asking permission to come to Flanders, he could not wholly conceal his restlessness. What he had had to report during the months gone by was interesting, sometimes important, but hardly enough to occupy his time and his mind.
